The goal of the Center is to serve as a primary scholarly resource for OSU students, faculty, and staff who are seeking to gain knowledge and information related to Africa and its Diaspora.  Through the Center's affiliated and associated faculty, a wide variety of courses are taught that offers the opportunity to earn a minor degree in Africana Studies. 

The Center also seeks to provide students with scholarships, as well as study abroad opportunities to sustain and enhance their educational opportunities and experiences at Oklahoma State University.The Africana Studies Center located in the College of Arts and Sciences at Oklahoma State University is an academically-oriented institution that is committed to an interdisciplinary approach to the advancement of research, teaching, and the general promotion of knowledge of the Diaspora of Africa.

The purpose of this Center is to foster the development of interest and knowledge in the study of the African Diaspora.  The Center focuses on all aspects of the social, political, economic, religious, and cultural developments and changes that are related to the African Diaspora, particularly as it relates to North America.
